With only four returning players from last year's 2-20 squad, the future might not seem bright for the Cardinals. However, the return of senior pitcher Amy Robichaux will allow Catholic to stay in the game. Robichaux started 17 games for the Cardinals in 1996. The team ERA in 1997 was 10.95.

Jennifer Quinn leads returning players with a .283 batting average in 1997 and 12 runs batted in. The shortstop started all 22 games last season as a freshman. Anna Hall, Michelle Daly and Laura Walsh each also started all 22 contests and will be looked upon to provide team leadership. Robichaux and Daly are the team's only seniors.

Freshmen Jennifer Trotta and Megan Schiavoni are expected to contribute immediately.
