Men and women in fourth place after day one in Pa.

SCRANTON, Pa. – CUA completed day one of the Landmark Conference championship on Friday, which is taking place on the campus of Marywood University.  The Cardinal men and women are both in fourth place with 108 and 115 points, respectively.

Joanna Ladas was the lone CUA swimmer to capture a title on Friday, winning the 500 free in a time of 5:08.39.

In the 50 free, Julia Wisler finished in a school record time of 24.62, which was good for third place.

In the relay events, the 400 medley team of Ladas, Katherine Kelly, Gabrielle Giambagno and Wisler finished fourth, while Ashley Wilson, Ladas, Wisler and Nicole DiGiancinto also finished fourth, in the 200 freestyle relay.

On the men's side, Caleb Capozella finished third in the 200 IM, with a time of 1:57.18, and Dominic Grillo placed third in the 50 free (21.45).

The 200 freestyle relay team of Grillo, Capozella, Stephen Gill and Brendan Reilly came in fourth place, posting a time of 1:27.74.

On Saturday action gets underway beginning at 10:30 a.m.  The championship wraps up on Sunday.
