WASHINGTON - Six members of The Catholic University of America women's swimming and diving team have earned All-Landmark nods, coming off its greatest performance in league history.
Juniors Pippa Rogers and Rachael Zarlinski each earned individual second-team honors while seniors Basira Knight and Rachel Chain along with freshmen Morgan James and Caroline Beal were awarded Second Team All-Landmark recognition with their relay performances.
Rogers hit the wall for the silver medal in the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:14.25. Zarlinski picked up a second place finish the 100-freestyle in 54.14 seconds.
Catholic touched in for second during the 200-medley relay (1:48.54) with Beal (27.30) in the backstroke spot, Knight (30.44) in the breaststroke leg, Zarlinski (26.02) in the butterfly and James (24.78) on the freestyle anchor.
James (1:02.11) swam backstroke on the Second Team All-Conference honored 400-medley while Knight (1:09.60) swam the breaststroke leg. Zarlinksi (59.41) dove in next for the butterfly leg and Chain (56.07) anchored for a final time of 4:07.49.
During the Cardinal's silver medal finish in the 200-freestyle relay, James led off with a 24.57-second split Beal swam next in 24.21 seconds. Chain took on the third leg in 24.80 seconds and Knight rounded out the relay in 24.25 seconds for a time of 1:37.83.
