1996-97 Season

1996-97 SEASON IN REVIEW: The men's swim team finished second at the CAC swimming championships for the third straight year and received the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America Swimming Team Award ranking 26th in the nation with a team grade point average of 3.07.

Senior John Cooper qualified for the NCAA Div. III swimming championships for the third time in his career and finished 20th in the 200 back and 22nd in the 100 back. Conference titles were won by Cooper (100 & 200 back), senior Josh Davies (400 IM), senior David Haley (200 IM & 100 free), junior Greg Hiemenz (200 breast) and junior Jim Kelly (500 free). The 200 medley relay set CAC and CUA records in a time of 1:36.75.
