CUA maintains No. 13 ranking in Top 25 poll

WASHINGTON – The Cardinals maintained their No. 13 ranking in the latest Top 25 poll, released on Monday.  CUA improved to 20-1 with two wins last week, clinching a Landmark Conference Tournament berth along the way.  The Cardinals also pulled to within a half game of Moravian for first place in the conference standings.

Senior Jenny McGann got CUA’s week off to a good start when she netted a career-high 22 points in a 77-74 road win at Juniata on January 30.  The Cardinals had led by as many as 16 points before the Eagles trimmed the lead to just one with 2:01 to play.  CUA then scored four of the final six points to sweep the season series.

On Saturday, CUA blitzed Drew with a 20-0 run at the start of the game en route to a 66-48 win inside the DuFour Center.  The Cardinals forced 28 turnovers and converted them into 26 points on the way to their sixth consecutive win.

Also on Monday, the NCAA released its latest statistical rankings, and CUA checked in at No. 5 in win percentage (95.2), and 15th in field goal percentage defense (31.2) and rebound margin (10.0).  Individually, Emily Grabiak is 2nd in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.82) and 22nd in assists (5.2).
