WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's basketball team now knows the road it must travel to reach its third-straight Landmark Championship game. Head coach Matt Donohue announced the Cardinals' 2016-17 schedule on Friday afternoon.
The Cards will host area foe St. Mary's in the team's season-opener on November 15.
Catholic then heads to Boston, Mass., for a tournament hosted by Emmanuel. The Cards will take on St. John Fisher, which also got votes in the final top-25, on November 19, before a second game on the 20th.
The nonconference schedule also features home games against Coast Guard (11/27), Eastern Mennonite (11/30), Wesley (12/18) and Oberlin (1/2), and road contests at Salisbury (12/7) and Neumann (12/10).
The Cardinals host its annual Jamie Lynn Roberts-Fairfield Inn DC Holiday Classic on December 29 and 30, taking on Washington and Jefferson on the first day of action.
Landmark play begins with a home matchup against Drew on December 3. Home dates include Moravian (1/14), Goucher (1/18), Juniata (1/28), Susquehanna (2/8), a rematch of the Landmark Championship against Scranton (2/11) and Elizabethtown (2/15).
Road league games start with Juniata on January 7 along with Elizabethtown (1/11), Scranton (1/21), Susquehanna (1/25), Goucher (2/1), Drew (2/4) and Moravian (2/18).
The Landmark Conference Tournament begins on February 22 with the semifinals, followed by the championship game on February 25.
