Lebanon Valley 66, Catholic 50 Jan 13, 2003

WASHINGTON --- A strong second-half by Lebanon Valley a bevy of CUA turnovers allowed the No. 23 ranked (D3hoops.com) Flying Dutchmen to defeat the Cardinals, 66-50, in non-league action Monday night at the DuFour Center.

The Cardinals were just 15-of-47 for the game and were guilty of a season-high 45 turnovers that led to 39 LVC points. Lebanon Valley's Stephanie Tighe led all scorers with 23 points.

The teams had trouble finding the shooting touch in the first half as the two teams combined for just 15 total field goals. Two Laura Kaye free throws right before halftime gave Catholic a 20-17 lead at the break. The freshman finished with eight points and nine rebounds in her second consecutive start.

A 23-4 run to open the second half by Lebanon Valley (8-2) opened to a 16-point lead that grew as much as 22 points.

Junior Kathleen McGlynn posted her first double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Carol Schnepp, back after missing the previous game with the flu, tallied a team-high 13 points, three steals, and a blocked shot.

For the game, Catholic shot 15-of-47, tying a season-low in team field goals. The loss also snaps a two-game win streak.

The Cardinals (5-6) resume action on Wednesday as they host Mary Washington College here at the DuFour Center in a Capital Athletic Conference tilt at 6 p.m.
