Cardinals ranked 18th in this week's IWLCA poll

WASHINGTON – CUA is ranked 18th in this week’s IWLCA poll, released on Tuesday. The Cardinals lost a pair of tough games last week, falling at nationally ranked York on March 13, before dropping a double overtime decision at Elizabethtown on Saturday.

CUA has already played once this week, downing Babson 15-14 in an overtime thriller on Monday afternoon. Freshman Mary Clare Regan, who scored four goals on the day, netted the eventual game-winner with less than a minute remaining in OT.

Regan shared the team lead in scoring with Lindsay Brophy, who also scored four goals.

Brophy currently leads the Cardinals in scoring this season, totaling 15 goals and 21 points, while Nicole Laitner and Caroline DiBartolomeo have scored 10 goals apiece.

CUA faces a tough test in its next game, hosting the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, Trinity (Conn.) on Wednesday afternoon. Start time from inside Cardinal Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m.
