Glassboro, N.J. - The Catholic Universtiy of America women's lacrosse team topped Rowan College 20-10 on the road Wednesday night.
Catholic junior Nicolette Crisalli scored eight goals in 11 shots and recorded one assist during the midweek contest. Senior Alexis Bosilovic scored four goals and one assist while sophomore Jessica Lyons scored her first career hat trick.
Senior draw control specialist Allie Bond won 18 draws and sophomore Kayla Purdy caused two turnovers and scooped up a pair of ground balls. Sophomore Christina De Cesaris guarded the cage for the Cardinals and made 11 saves.
After a quick Rowan goal, the Cardinals scored four unanswered in the opening eight minutes. Bosilovic scored Catholic's first goal followed by three in a row from Crisalli. Senior Jenna Van Middelem assisted the Cardinals first three goals while her classmate Elizabeth McCooey tallied the assist on the fourth.
Crisalli put one more in the net while Bosilovic added two during the first half. Lyons notched two of her own and senior Laura Dunn and sophomore Megan Ellis each recorded a goal in the first thirty minutes. The Cards led 11-4 at halftime.
The Owls started the second half with back-to-back goals before Bosilovic found the back of the cage for her fourth of the day. Crisalli tallied her final four while Dunn, Ellis and Lyons each had second-half goals to help the Cards to the midweek victory.
Freshman Holly Regan registered three points in the second half with one goal and three assists.
Catholic remains on the road for a Landmark Conference matchup against the University of Scranton on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m.
