Bethlehem, Pa. - The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team recorded its fifth straight Landmark Conference win with an 18-4 victory over Moravian College on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Elizabeth McCooey scored three goals with one assist while junior Nicolette Crisalli scored three goals of her own. Senior Laura Dunn dished out four assists and her classmate Allie Bond won eight draw controls. Freshman goalie Nanci Hernandez made eight saves in the cage.
Catholic held the Greyhounds scoreless in the first half while eight different Cardinals notched 12 goals. Senior Clair Schmitzer scored the game-opener just 34 seconds after the first draw. Fellow senior Alexis Bosilovic tossed the ball in the cage next before Crisalli scored back-to-back.
Senior Jenna Van Middelem sent a shot between the pipes next, followed by sophomores Jessica Lyons and Megan Ellis, Crisalli and senior Ana Brandenburg, respectively. McCooey rounded out the final seven minutes of the half with a hat trick.
Sophomore Molly Kelly started the Catholic scoring in the second half before Moravian put a goal on the scoreboard. Seniors Emily Merkel and Erin Macchione each notched a goal for the Cards followed by scores from freshmen Allyson Criscuolo and Julia Clementi.
With 38 seconds remaining the contest, Bosilovic ripped a free position shot into the net for Catholic's 18th goal.
The Cardinals will host Elizabethtown College for the final game of the regular 2017 season on Saturday, April 29, a 1 p.m.
