WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse senior Laura Dunn added to her prolific career on Friday afternoon as she garnered Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American status.
One of just 48 student-athletes across the country to receive the prestigious honor, Dunn was tabbed to the All-America Third Team.
Dunn is Catholic's 16th All-America selection since 2000 and she is the first attack in program history to garner national top-team honors.
The Fairfax, Va., native recently earned her second straight all-region selection in addition to making the Landmark Conference First team for the second-consecutive season. She leads the league and is 20th in the country in assists (43) and is third in the Landmark with 77 total points. Dunn has started all 18 games for the Cardinals in 2017, collecting 25 groundballs with seven caused turnovers.
Dunn was selected as the 2017 Landmark Conference Tournament MVP after leading the Cardinals to their fourth-straight conference title.
Catholic earned a bye to the NCAA Second Round and defeated Washington & Jefferson, 20-1, as Dunn led with way with seven points on two goals and five assists.
The Cardinals now play in the in NCAA Regional Semifinal for the third-consecutive season as they travel to Washington & Lee on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
