WASHINGTON - Junior defender Erin Dugan of The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team has been selected as the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Dugan made two starts this week and helped the Cardinals to back-to-back victories. The Medford, N.J., native won six draw controls, scooped four groundballs and caused two turnovers in then-No. 22 Catholic's upset over then-No. 5 York. Just two days later, Dugan collected five draw controls and caused two turnovers during the Cardinals' win over Landmark opponent, Scranton.
This is Dugan's second recognition as the Defensive Athlete of the Week this year.
With the victories, Catholic has risen to No. 17 on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association weekly poll.
The No. 17 Cardinals travel to Selinsgrove, Pa., to face league opponent Susquehanna University on Saturday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m.
