No. 17 Catholic Rolls Past Moravian on Senior Day, 23-4

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team rolled past Moravian in Landmark action, 23-4, as the No. 17-ranked Cardinals celebrated the careers of its three seniors in style.

With the win, the Cards improve to a perfect 6-0 in league play and clinch the Landmark Conference Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 spot in the Landmark Tournament.

In a full team effort, 11 different Cardinals scored including seniors Sarah Washington and Nicolette Crisalli. Catholic's senior trio was rounded out by Jenna Gobel who started and aided a strong defensive effort that held Moravian to just four scores.

Sophomore Holly Regan led way with an eight-point afternoon with five goals and three assists.

Just behind was junior Jessica Lyons as she racked up six points on four goals and two helpers.

Catholic finished the game with five multi-point players as Crisalli (three goals), sophomore Ally Criscuolo (three goals, one assist) and sophomore Julia Clementi (two goals, two assists) all appeared on the scoresheet at least three times.

Sophomore goalie Nanci Hernandez earned her ninth win of the year with nine saves against 25 shots and even added an assist on a second-half goal to Lyons.

Catholic won the ground ball battle, 31-18, and racked up nine more draw controls than the Greyhounds.

The Cards have just two games left on their 2018 slate with its home finale in a top-25 matchup against No. 10 Mary Washington this coming Wednesday at 7 p.m.
