WASHINGTON - Seven members of No. 15 The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team have been selected to the Landmark Conference All-Leagues Teams as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.
The Catholic defense earned three first-team All-Landmark spots as juniors Erin Dugan and Kayla Purdy along with sophomore Alyssa Bishop garnered selections. Junior midfielder Jessica Lyons and senior attacker Nicolette Crisalli also earned first-team recognition while sophomore attacker Holly Regan and sophomore goalie Nanci Hernandez were selected to the second team.
Dugan, who was a first-team member last season and second-teamer her rookie year, leads the Cardinals with 71 draw control victories, 35 caused turnovers and 39 groundballs. A dynamic player in transition, the Medford, N.J., native recorded two goals and two assists during the 2018 season and was selected as the league's Defensive Athlete of the Week after the Cardinals upset over then-No. 5 York.
Hailing from East Setauket, N.Y., Purdy started 17-of-18 games for the Cardinals this season. A one-on-one defender, she has caused 20 turnovers and grabbed 19 groundballs.
Bishop sits behind Dugan in Catholic's No. 2 spot for groundballs (36). A fellow Medford, N.J., native, Bishop caused 15 turnovers and dished out one assist in 2018.
A Havertown, Pa., native, Lyons supplied the Cardinals with 48 points on 42 goals and six assists this season. With 56 draw control wins, Lyons is third on the team in draws. She has also caused 20 turnovers and scooped up 32 groundballs. This is Lyons second career all-league honor as she received second-team recognition in 2017.
Crisalli leads the Cardinals with 66 goals. She added seven assists to hold Catholic's No. 2 spot in points (73). Hailing from Silver Spring, Md., Crisalli started all 18 games for the Cardinals this season and recorded a .856 shots on goal percentage. She caused 14 turnovers and grabbed 20 groundballs. This is Crisalli's third straight First Team All-Landmark recognition.
Regan sits just ahead of Crisalli with 74 points on 34 goals and 40 assists in 2018. The versatile attacker from Stony Brook, N.Y., has racked up 19 groundballs and caused eight turnovers.
From San Diego, Calif., Hernandez leads the Landmark with a 10.51 goals against average and 49.1 save percentage. Hernandez started 17 of Catholic's 18 games and registered 11 wins this season.
No. 1-seeded Catholic is set to host the Landmark Conference Championship on Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m., versus No. 2 Scranton University.
