No. 8 York Tops No. 14 Catholic in NCAA Regional Semifinal

Middlebury, Vt. – The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA Division III regional semifinal for the fourth-consecutive season but were topped by the No. 8-nationally ranked York College Spartans, 13-6. The Cardinals entered the game as the No. 14-ranked team in the country and end the year with a 15-7 overall record.

York opened the game with five-straight goals to set tone, one in which the Cards could not overcome.

Catholic faced a 7-1 first half deficit but rallied to score three-straight goals from that point.

The Spartans answered from there however to keep the Cardinals from taking the lead.

Senior Nicolette Crisalli led the way with two goals as she finished her career with 255 scores and becomes the Landmark Conference's all-time leading goal-scorer.

Four other Cardinals also scored goals in the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nanci Hernandez did yeoman's work in front of the cage as she made 15 saves.
