Catholic 13, No. 14 Goucher 11    

TOWSON, Md. - Catholic broke a two-game losing streak as Ann Lawall scored four times an added two assists to lead CUA over Goucher 13-11, Tuesday afternoon. Ali Jarden added three goals and two assists and Kristen Wisniewski and Kate Abbonizio tallied twice. Goucher is ranked No. 14 in the nation in the latest ILWCA poll.

Ashley Snyder led Goucher (2-1, 0-1 CAC) with a game-high 5 goals.

Colleen Finnerty and Christine Thornton also scored for Catholic with Abbonizio adding two assists.

Cardinal head coach Kristine Manning was very pleased with her team's performance. "We played a total team effort. Today we depended everybody to their job and that's what they did."

Catholic held Goucher's top scoring threat, Katie Jarvis, to just one point as she assisted on Snyder's third goal.

CUA outshot the Gophers 32-26 and led 8-5 at halftime.

Amanda Lewis made eight saves for the Cardinals (2-2, 1-0 CAC). Her counterpart, Gopher goalie Megan Zeller posted 11 stops.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday as they host St. Vincent at DuFour Field at 3 p.m.
