Adler, Thornton Share CAC Player of the Week Honors

WASHINGTON (April 4, 2005) -- Seniors Kerry Adler (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) from Marymount University and Christine Thornton (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Sacred Heart Academy) from the Catholic University of America have been selected Co-Players of the Week for the sport of women's lacrosse in the Capital Athletic Conference for the seven-day period ending April 3. A total of five players were nominated for the honor.

Adler became Marymount's all-time leader in career points by supplying the Saints with eight goals and five assists in three games last week. Her career totals: 116 goals and 55 assists for a total of 171 points. Thornton was equally effective on attack and on defense in four games for the Cardinals last week, all of them victories. Her totals for the week: five goals, eight assists, 30 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and nine draw controls.
