Earley Headlines Four All-Landmark Selections

TOWSON, Md. - Junior Mackenzie Earley of the Catholic University women's soccer team has been selected to All-Landmark Conference First Team while fellow juniors Grace Boras and Elizabeth Johnson and sophomore Maggie Moorcones all earned second-team honors.

Earley garners her first All-Conference award after a strong season anchoring the Cardinals' backline. She started in 17 games for Catholic as a central defender, helping the team post a goals against average of 1.07.

Johnson returns to the All-Landmark list after a First Team honor last season. On the frontline, Johnson led the league for the second straight season in with 78 shots. She finished the season ranked fourth in the conference with 19 points on seven goals and five assists. The York, Pa., native appeared in 18 games with 16 starts and scored gamewinners against DeSales and Berry.

Boras had a breakout season for Catholic in her junior year. After just five starts and one goal a season ago, she made 17 starts for head Coach JP Sousa this fall. She tied Johnson with a team-high seven goals, including a crucial gamewinner against Elizabethtown on the final match of the regular season for the Cardinals. The forward from Ashburn, Va. added one assist and took 31 shots.

Moorcones bested her impressive freshman year total of five goals with six in her sophomore campaign. Most of her goals came from distance, as she launched shots from all over the field to beat opposing keepers. Adding two assists and 36 shots, the Sterling, Va. native started 17 games and helped control possession in the midfield for the Cardinals.
