Catholic awarded berth in ECAC Tournament Nov 10, 2003

The Catholic University Women's Soccer Team was awarded a bid to the 2003 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament.

The Cardinals (14-4-1), who gained the tournament's fifth-seed, will play at Gwynedd Mercy College (12-3-5), the fourth-seed, this Wednesday, November 12th at 2 p.m.

The Griffins, who compete in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, lost in the PAC Championship on Saturday on penalty kicks. Catholic suffered a similar fate, falling on penalty kicks to Goucher College in the quarterfinal round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.

The other first-round game on Wednesday pits #6 Moravian (10-3-4) at #3 Johns Hopkins (13-6-1).

The Catholic-Gwynedd Mercy winner will face top-seeded Carnegie Mellon (10-2-4) while the Moravian-Johns Hopkins winner will face Lebanon Valley (11-3-4). Both semifinal and championship games will take place at Carnegie Mellon.
