Women’s Soccer walks away with 3-2 win over Stevenson

Stevenson, Md.-Kelly Donnely's (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) goal in the 77th minute lifted CUA to a 3-2 win on the road at Stevenson, Wednesday. 

The Cardinal offense took 18 shots in the game, seven of them on goal.  Six players recorded at least one shot, with three players recording four or more shots.  Donnely had five shots, a goal and an assist while Suzie Peters (Nanuet, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) added four shots, a goal and an assist.  Helene Nicoletti (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) recorded a perfect one for one, netting her only shot of the match which was a free kick taken from 30 yards.  Nicoletti tucked the ball just inside the upper corner of the net. 

Peters goal was the 30th of her career.  She is only the third player in CUA history to reach 30 goals in a career. 

Defensively for the Cardinals, Tere Rossi (Annandale, Va./Falls Church) notched six saves on 14 Stevenson shots. 

CUA returns to action Saturday as the Cardinals will travel to Juniata for the opening of the 2008 Landmark Conference schedule.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
