Nicoletti and Donnelly Earn More Honors, This Time From Coaches Association

Helene Nicoletti and Kelly Donnelly continue to earn postseason honors, this time from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Both women were named to the Division III Mid-Atlantic Region squads.

Nicoletti was also named Defensive Player of the Year in the Landmark Conference for her outstanding defense. Nicoletti played solid defense throughout the fall and helped hold opponents to a 0.74 goals against average to earn CUA's first ever NSCAA 1st-Team All Mid-Atlantic Region spot.

Donnelly led the entire Landmark Conference in scoring with 14 goals and seven assists for a total of 35 points to earn second team honors by the NSCAA.

In 2009, the CUA women's soccer team earned head coach J.P. Sousa's second NCAA tournament bid where the Cardinals fell to eventual national semifinalist Lynchburg in the tournament's opening round. The team finished with a 17-3-1 record and both the Landmark Conference regular season and tournament championship.
