Cardinals bounce back from tough loss by sweeping Drew

WASHINGTON – The Cardinals bounced back from their first conference loss with a 9-0 sweep of Drew on Senior Day. CUA picked up singles wins from Marge Selinger, Liz Harvey, Ritamarie Holden, Elaina Sceusa, Caitlin Porter and Emma Needham. The Cards also swept the doubles matches to improve to 4-1 in the Landmark.

At 1st singles, Selinger rolled past Chelsea Lipp 6-1, 6-3, while Harvey earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at the 2nd flight.

Holden put away Deanna Williams 1-6, 6-0, 6-0 at 3rd singles, and Sceusa picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the 4th flight.

At 5th singles, Porter earned a 6-1, 6-3 win, and Needham closed things out with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at 6th singles.

In doubles action, Selinger and Harvey teamed up for an 8-3 win at the 1st flight, and Porter and Holden earned a 9-8 victory at the 2nd flight.

At 3rd doubles, the duo of Isabel Tanco and Andie Ingram swept past the Rangers, 8-0. It was Ingram's first match back after sitting out due to injury.

CUA is back on action on Monday when the Cards play host to Randolph-Macon at 3 p.m.
