Women’s Tennis Downs Susquehanna and Juniata

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's tennis team improved to 3-1 in the Landmark Conference as the Cardinals downed Susquehanna, 9-0, and Juniata, 7-2.

The Cards went for the sweep at home on Saturday before hitting the road on Sunday at Juniata to make it a 16-2 weekend overall.

Senior No. 1 Jenna Gietl showed why she owns the Cardinals' top spot as she was victorious in both singles matches and also earned a doubles win against the River Hawks along with junior Erin Cole.

Catholic also got a strong performance from senior Sarah MacLean as she went a perfect 4-0 with two No. 2 singles wins and two No. 2 doubles wins along with rookie Colleen McLaughlin.

The Cardinals now improve to 3-1 in the league and 10-7 overall with three matches left on their 2018 schedule, all coming at home on the Dowd Family Tennis Courts.
