Cardinals place eight on All-Conference teams

WASHINGTON- CUA placed eight student-athletes on the All-Landmark Conference Teams on Wednesday and Head Coach Joe Fisher was named Coach of the Year. Senior Laura Kinley earned both First and Second Team honors for the 1500 meter and 800 meter respectively. Joining Kinley on the First Team are Mary Clark (hammer), and Megan Ross (shot put and discus). Kelsey Broomfield (4x100 relay), Maria Dextra Cercos (4x100 relay), Keely Eckberg (5000m, 10000m), Bridget Krumholz (4x100 relay), and Erin Sandlin (4x100 relay) were all named to the Second Team.

The Cardinals finished 3rd at the 2013 Landmark Conference outdoor championships, which wrapped up on Sunday, April 28. CUA totaled 133 points during the two-day competition.

Ross won the shot put with a throw of 39' ¾, and added a second title in the discus, where she unleashed a throw of 123' 4". Clark won the hammer throw with a throw of 43.37 meters.

Kinley set a championship meet and stadium record in the 1500 meter crossing in a time of 4:42.25 and finished second in the 800 meter in a time of 2:19.78.

The CUA 4x100 relay team (Broomfield, Cercos, Krumholz, and Sandlin) finished in second place in 52.35.

Eckberg picked up a second place finish in the 10,000 and in the 5000 meter in a time of 18:41.20.
