Women's Track and Field Competes at Battleground Relays

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's track and field team opened their outdoor season at the Battleground Relays at the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, March 21.

On the track CUA's Danielle Caruccio placed second in 100m with a finals time of 13.01 while Becky Chominski earned the 6th in 1500m with a time of 5:27. Dexie Cercos notched a fourth for the Cardinals in 100mHH and 400mH with times of 17.55s and 1:16.50, respectively.

The Cardinals 4x400 relay made up of Jane Marrinan followed by Bridget Krumholz and Becky Chominksi with Carrucio in the anchor spot placed second with a time of 4:17.

In the field Mary Clark was a stand out for the Cards placing first in the hammer throw (133'11"), third in shot put (36'8"), and sixth in disc (106'1").

Catholic's Stephanie Taylor grabbed the second place spot in the high jump (4'10") while Hannah Gillis took the fourth place spot in the long jump (106'11")

Cardinal's thrower Kaila DeFalco placed fifth in the hammer throw with a personal record of 118'1.

The Cards head to Gallaudet University for the Bison Invitational on Saturday, March 28 beginning at 10 a.m.
