Fairfax, Va. – The Catholic University of America women's track & field team enjoyed a busy weekend, competing twice after a week off due the blizzard of 2016. The Cardinals competed at Widener on Friday before taking part in George Mason's Patriot Invitational.
At Widener, senior Stephanie Taylor was victorious in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters. She also placed fifth in the long jump, going 4.22 meter, just behind rookie Victoria Turner who took fourth at 4.5 meters.
Taylor and Turner also 4-5 in the triple jump with marks of 9.47 and 9.31, respectively.
Freshman Andrea Galeano placed second the shot put, throwing one 9.81 meters. Fellow rookie Erin Hanley was third in the event with a toss of 9.69. Galeano also took second in the weight throw at 12.26 meters.
In the Patriot Invite, junior Danielle Caruccio finished 12th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.46.
Turner competed in the 60 meter hurdles, placing 18th at 10.53.
The Cardinals return to action this weekend when they compete at the Christopher Newport Invitational on Saturday, February 6, at 10 a.m.
