Women’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Fourth at Landmark Championships

Selinsgrove, Pa. – The Catholic University of America women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2016 Landmark Conference Championships at Susquehanna on Saturday. Several Cardinals posted high marks and reached the podium as CUA finished fourth overall.

Junior Danielle Caruccio led CUA with a strong meet and several fast times. She finished second overall in the 400, going sub-minute at 59.90. She also placed fourth overall in the 200 meters, crossing the finish line in 27.33.

Rookie hurdler Victoria Turner finished fifth overall in the 60 meters with a time of 9.98. Turner also added a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.81 meters.

CUA's 4x200 relay team took fourth as  sophomore Elizabeth Glover, sophomore Eileen McAlonan, Turner and Carrucio combined for a time of 1:53.45.

The Cardinals also earned a fourth-place finish in the distance medley relay. Sophomore Becky Chominski, McAlonan, sophomore Erin McNulty and sophomore Kiera Lyons crossed in 13:25.89.

In addition to two point-earning relays, McAlonan also placed fifth overall in the long jump at 4.81 meters.

Senior jumper Stephanie Taylor posted a top-three finish in the high jump, taking third with a mark of 1.52 meters. 

In the pole vault, rookie Mia Del Borrello cleared 2.74 meters, good for fourth place.

Rookie Andrea Galeano led all CUA throwers with a fourth-place finish in the with throw, going 13.62 meters.
