Bridgewater, Va. – The Catholic University of America women's track & field team was in action at Bridgewater's 11th Hour Invite on Sunday. The Cardinals racked up several strong performances highlighted by a win in the shot put by rookie Andrea Galeano.
Galeano PR'd in all three events she competed in, including her winning throw of 10.89 meters in the shot put. She also placed fourth in the hammer with a toss of 38.53 meters and took eighth in the discus with a personal best mark of 27.90.
Sophomore Kiera Lyons continued her strong season, placing second in the 800 with a time of 2:28.34. She also took second in the 1500, crossing the finish line in 5:00.47, less than a second back of first.
Senior Stephanie Taylor added a top-three finish, clearing 1.49 meters in the women's high jump. She also placed fourth in the trip jump at 9.79 meters.
The Cardinals return to action this Saturday, April 16, at the Gettysburg Invitational.
