Women’s Track & Field Places Third at Mason-Dixon Invitational

Gettysburg, Pa. – The Catholic University of America women's track & field team put forth a strong effort on Saturday at Gettysburg College's Mason-Dixon Invitational, placing third in a field of 21 schools.

Junior Danielle Caruccio led the way as she took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.24 and followed it up with a second-straight silver in the 400, posting a sub-minute time of 59.42 seconds.

Sophomore Kiera Lyons continued her strong season with a third place performance in the 800, crossing the finish line in 2:27.86. She also took third in the mile at 5:22.59.

Senior Erin Schlegel placed second in the 10,000, finishing the distance event in 42.33.03.

Fellow fourth-year track & field member Stephanie Taylor added a top-five finish in the high jump, clearing 1.46 meters for fifth place.

The Cardinals also went 2-3 in the hammer throw as freshman Brenna Coppola registered a throw of 37.09 followed by junior Samantha Kozlowski's toss of 35.06 meters.
