Women’s Track & Field Finishes Fifth at Goucher
WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's track & field team competed at the 16th annual Goucher Invitational on Saturday as the Cardinals placed fifth overall against 10 other teams.


Senior sprinter Danielle Caruccio took home the silver in the 400-meter dash as she crossed the finish line in 1:00.10. She also earned a top-10 finish in the 200 as she took seventh with a time of 26.84.


Sophomore Andrea Galeano earned a silver of her own in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.82 meters.

Junior Kiera Lyons took fourth in the 800 at 2:32.44 and followed it up with a second fourth-place performance in the 1,500, crossing in 5:11.68.

Rookie hurdler Emily Schubert also put up a fourth-place finish at 1:19.57 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Fellow freshman Gabby Tomasura took bronze in the javelin as she posted a throw of 31.70 meters, less than three meters back of the top mark.

The Cardinals return to action on April Fools Day at the Mary Washington Relays.
