WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's track & field standout Kiera Lyons was honored by Landmark Conference on Monday afternoon as she was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week.
The Cardinals had several strong performances at the Mary Washington Battleground Relays this past Friday and Saturday and Lyons led the way.
The Harwood, Md., ran for gold in the 3,000-meter steeple chase with an impressive time of 12.08.48.
The junior also went on to earn a silver in the 1,500 at 5:07.87. She was just .9 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
Lyons is now a three-time Landmark Track Athlete of the Week as she earned the distinction twice last season. She also has been honored with a Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week award.
This is also the second athlete of the week this season as senior Danielle Caruccio was selected two weeks ago.
Next up, the Cards will compete at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m.
