Fairfax, Va. — The Catholic University of America women's track & field team competed at Division I George Mason University's Patriot Games this weekend and got several strong performances against top competition.
Junior Andrea Galeano also led the way as she was victorious in the weight throw with a toss of 15.78 meters.
Freshman Abby Grabowski made the finals in the 60-meter hurdles and finished seventh overall with a time of 9.77 seconds which broke her own school record top time. Grabowski was also 15th in the 200 at 28.56 seconds.
Senior Kiera Lyons was equally impressive as she took the silver in the 5,000 as she crossed the finish line in 18:48-flat. She also took eighth in the mile as she finished in 5:17.78.
Sophomore Alex Filiault added a top-10 performance in the 500-meter dash as she took sixth at 1:31.55.
