Fredericksburg, Va. — The Catholic University of America women's track & field team opened the outdoor portion of 2018 schedule on Saturday as the Cardinals took part in the Mary Washington Opener.
Senior Kiera Lyons had one of the team's top performances as she finished second overall in the 1,500 with a time of 4:56.04. She followed it up with another silver in the 5,000 at 18:22.63.
Junior Andrea Galeano followed Lyons' lead and earned a second-place finish of her own in the hammer with a mark of 40.37 meters. She also took sixth in the shot put with a distance of 9.52 meters.
Catholic returns to action next weekend when they travel to Towson, Md., for the Goucher Classic on Saturday, March 24.
