
Women's Track Earns 4th at Landmark Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The CUA women's track and field team
finished 4th at the Landmark Conference Indoor Track and
Field Meet over the weekend, earning four 1st place
finishes at the event.
Kelly Carioto and L. Kinley led the individual efforts for the
afternoon. Carioto finished first in the shot put, tossing 11.91m.
Laura Kinley also earned a top finish in the 800m dash in
2:27.60.
Two of CUA's relay teams also earned top finishes for the
Cardinals. The team of Ashley Suerman, Remy Ball, Megan Deitzler,
and Kinley earned first place in the 4x800m run. In the DMR (1200,
400, 800, 1600), the team of Kinley, Melanie Mulkern, Suerman, and
Ball finished the race in 13:12.89, earning another top finish for
the Cards.
Kelly Szal and Deitzer garnered 6th place finishes at
the meet. Szal leaped 4.71m in the long jump, while Deitzer earned
a time of 5:38.73 in the 1600m. Kelly Eckberg and Bridgette Smith
earned 6th and 7th, respectively, in the
5000m dash.
CUA will now look to begin their outdoor season beginning March
20th, 2010, as they participate in the Battleground
Relays at Mary Washington.
