WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America volleyball team played two Landmark Conference games on Saturday at Scranton but were topped by Susquehanna and the host Royals.
Catholic forced a 25-all score in the second set after dropping the first against Susquehanna but fell 27-25 and were edged in the third as well.
Senior Michelle Seals went for a double-double with 15 assists and 10 digs to go along with two aces in the loss.
Freshman Patricia Martinez led the way with nine kills and also chipped in seven digs.
Catholic then took on a 19-1 Scranton team and were topped in straight sets.
Martinez came back with a team-high nine kills and added 16 digs from the back line. She was one of three players with 15-or-more digs as she was joined by freshmen Christina Ciola and Maria Gonzalez.
Catholic will look to get back on the winning track at Mary Washington next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
