Abdelrazek Announces 2018 Volleyball Schedule

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America head volleyball coach Nagy Abdelrazek announced the 2018 schedule for the Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon. The Cards begin their quest to make it back to the Landmark Conference tournament in Abdelrazek's 26th season in charge.

Catholic begins its 2018 slate on the road with an invitational tournament at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va. on Friday, August 31. It is the first of four road tournaments that the Cardinals will compete in this season. The team will also travel to the Neumann Knights Invitational (9/14-15), the Stockton Osprey Classic (9/21-22) and the Lycoming Invitational (10/5-6).

Home action inside the DuFour Center begins for the Cards on Wednesday, September 5 against Gettysburg. That weekend, Catholic holds the 20th annual CUA Guetle Invitational Tournament on September 7 and 8. The hosts welcome Wesley, Salisbury, Chatham, and Pittsburgh-Greensburg to Brookland.

The Cardinals' other nonconference challenges include road matches at Shenandoah (9/18) and Gallaudet (10/24). Home games against non-league foes include Washington College (9/12), Mary Washington (10/2), and Christopher Newport and Lynchburg, both on Friday, October 12.

The Cards will play two Landmark Conference weekends in 2018 and host the final matchup.

Catholic first heads to Susquehanna for a Landmark weekend to face the River Hawks and Moravian on Saturday, September 29. The team hosts Elizabethtown on Wednesday, October 10, before traveling to Goucher the following week (10/17). The final Landmark weekend will be played at the DuFour as the Cardinals take on Juniata and Scranton on senior day, Saturday, October 27.

The final conference weekend sets up the Landmark tournament with the semifinals scheduled for Wednesday, October 31, before the championship match on Saturday, November 3.
