Five Cardinals earn conference honors 

Mary Ellen Ryan (Gulph Mills, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy) and Bridget Guetle (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) were named first-team All-CAC in volleyball. Liz Carden (Baker, Fla./Baker) earned second-team honors.

Ryan, a junior outside hitter and first-team selection last year, was second on the team in kills (307) and service aces (44), and third in digs (391).

Guetle is a sophomore setter who led Catholic University in assists (1,266), service aces (55) and digs (451). She was CAC Rookie of the Year in 1999 and also competes on the women's tennis team.

Carden is a two-time All-CAC second-team selection. The junior outside hitter paced the Cardinals in kills (3310 and kills per game (3.21).

Kathleen McGlynn (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) was tabbed CAC Rookie of the Year. A 6-foot middle hitter, she paced CUA in hitting percentage (.247) and was second in blocks per game (.852). McGlynn now plays on the women's basketball team.

Nagy Abdelrazek (Kensington, Md.) was named CAC Coach of the Year for the third time (1994, '99). He led the Cards to a 35-6 record, a school-best 18-match winning streak and the CAC regular season championship. The team's .854 winning percentage is the finest in school history.
