
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – CUA fell to Susquehanna on Sunday by a
score of 3-1 in the final match of the opening weekend of Landmark
Conference play. CUA took the first set 25-21, but then
dropped the next three, 18-25, 14-25 and 19-25 as the Cardinals
fall to 10-8 overall and 2-1 in league action.
Michaela Carroll again had a solid day for CUA as she totaled a
team-high 40 assists to go along with 17 digs, while Claudia Jean
recorded 21 kills and 17 digs.
Katie Chefalas continued her strong play for the Cardinals with 12
kills and nine digs and Bridget Kulesh added nine kills.
The host Crusaders received 41 assists and four kills from Shona
St. Angelo, while Emily Carson added 15 kills and ten digs.
Susquehanna survived the first weekend of league action with a
perfect 3-0 record.
CUA returns to action on Wednesday when the Cardinals play host to
St. Mary’s inside DuFour Gymnasium. The match is
scheduled to begin at 7:00.
