Cardinals Finish Second at NCAA Regional Preview Meet

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's cross country team competed at the South/Southeast NCAA Regional Preview Meet hosted by Christopher Newport on Saturday and earned a second-place finish thanks to three top-10 performances.

Senior Kiera Lyons led way as she finished third overall with a time of 24:24-flat.

Not far behind was the rookie duo of Tara Thornton and Shannon Griffin. Thornton took fifth overall and was just 30 seconds behind Lyons at 24:54-flat.

Griffin rounded out the top-10 finishes as she crossed the finish line in 26:13, good for ninth overall.

Next up, the Cardinals will head to the Hood College Open on Saturday, September 14 at 10 a.m.
