WESTWOOD, Mass. - The Catholic University football team had 10 players named to the 2019 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Football Academic All-Conference Team on Thursday, including seniors John Graham and Colin McNulty who were each chosen for the third-straight year.
The Cardinals' 10 honorees were the fifth-most among the eight football schools in the NEWMAC, tying them with Norwich. MIT had 33 selections while WPI had 21 and Springfield had 17.
Catholic had eight selections a year ago and has had 26 since joining the conference in 2017.
Junior Brady Berger and Cormac Roe were honored for the second consecutive season. Juniors Joe Diemer and Zack Tucker and sophomores Tommy Antonucci, Mark Cheffers, Ty Cobb and Matthew DiSanto each received their first Academic All-Conference selections.
A total of 110 student-athletes were honored. Honorees must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher following the Spring 2019 semester, have achieved second-year academic status at his institution and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Catholic wraps up the 2019 season on Saturday against Maine Maritime at Ritchie Field in Castine, Maine. Kickoff is at noon.
