BALTIMORE, Md. - The Catholic University field hockey team fell to the No. 8 Johns Hopkins Blue Jays 6-0 in nonconference play at Homewood Field.
Johns Hopkins (4-1) scored their first three goals quickly in the first quarter to get an early lead on the Cards. The Blue Jays added three more goals, one in each remaining quarter, to shutout Catholic (2-3) in the final score.
Senior Nicole Tsiaras had one defensive save in the loss, her first of the season, bringing her career total to 19. Sophomore Maysen Elliott recorded seven saves for the Cardinals, breaking her career high of five saves in a game in a 2-0 loss at No. 19 Ursinus on Oct. 16, 2018.
Catholic will return home on Saturday, September 21 in a nonconference home contest against No. 7 Messiah beginning at 1 p.m. This game will be in celebration of the 50th anniversary for the Catholic University field hockey team since its inaugural season in 1969.
