FAIRFAX STATION, Va. - The men's novice 4+ boat, coxed by freshman Robb Jett, finished seventh out of 13 crews to lead the Catholic University men's rowing team at the Head of the Occoquan Saturday at Sandy Run Regional Park.
The Cardinals finished seventh in a time of 22:16.28, besting crews from Division I schools, including American and Penn State as well Division III rivals Carnegie Mellon, St. Mary's (Md.) and Susquehanna. West Virginia crossed the line first in a time of 18:24.78.
The men's novice 8+ boat, coxed by freshman Clare Delmore, finished eighth out of 15 crews with a time of 20:40.30, crossing the line ahead of Virginia Tech, Maryland, UMBC, Loyola Maryland and Carnegie Mellon. Georgetown finished first with a mark of 15:42.40.
The men's varsity 8+ placed 12 out of 13 crews in a time of 17:35.32, finishing ahead of Virginia Tech. Georgetown crossed the line first in 14:55.29.
Catholic has completed its fall schedule and will return to action at the Washington College Invitational on Saturday, March 28.
