Cardinals Receiving Votes in United Soccer Coaches Poll

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A strong start for the Catholic University men's soccer team has the Cardinals receiving votes in the new Division III Top 25 Poll. The team is also ranked at No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches Mid-Atlantic Region Poll.

The Cardinals received 19 votes in the poll after winning five-straight games. Since a 3-0 loss to start the season, the team has outscored its opponents 21-0 during its five-game winning streak.

Catholic was previously unranked in both polls, but have entered after a 4-0 win over Randolph-Macon and 1-0 road win over Dickinson last week.

The recognition comes ahead of a big matchup with No. 14 Mary Washington tomorrow night at Carlini Field. The Eagles have a 4-1-1 record and jumped six spots in today's United Soccer Coaches poll.

Catholic lost 2-0 at Mary Washington a year ago on Sept. 19, 2018 when the Eagles were ranked at No. 17.
