KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In the midst of a nine-game unbeaten streak, the Catholic University men's soccer team was ranked at No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll on Tuesday and at No. 24 in the D3Soccer.com Top 25 Poll.
The Cardinals (8-1-1, 1-0-0 LC) is ranked nationally for the first time since they were at No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches poll on Nov. 8, 2011.
Last week, Catholic defeated a strong Mid-Atlantic Region opponent on the road in Salisbury before adding a 2-1 road victory over Scranton to open Landmark Conference play.
The Cardinals also moved up two spots to No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Mid-Atlantic Region rankings as well.
Catholic has given up just three goals during its nine-game unbeaten streak that dates back to its season opener on August 30. In that span, the team recorded seven consecutive shutouts from Aug. 31 to Sept. 21.
The Cardinals look to continue their run tonight at home against Eastern. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., at Carlini Field.
