COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Catholic University men's indoor track and field team returned to action today with a fifth place finish at the Collegeville Classic, hosted by Ursinus College.
The Cardinals finished the day with three medal winners and a variety of career bests. Junior Dillon Frawley led the Cards finishing in first place in the pole vault with a career best mark of 4.25m. Rookie Cornelius Deep finished as the runner-up in the 5000m with a career best of 16:28.71. Junior Cosmo Pirozzi had a day for himself, with a career best second place finish in the mile, along with a fourth place finish in the 800m.
"We are very excited with how the men performed today," said Director Steve Rahn. "They made a great transition from the holiday break and came back ready to compete. It was encouraging to see big performances from Dillion Frawley in the pole vault, Cosmo Pirozzi in the mile and 800m, Joey LaPointe in the mile, Cornelius Deep in the 5k, and so many more who have made great progress in their events."
Catholic will return to action on Saturday, January 26 at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason University.
