Cardinals Finish Season at South/Southeast Regionals

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –  The Catholic University men's cross country team competed in the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals on Saturday at Shelby Farms Park, placing 17th out of 36 teams with 468 points.

It is the team's second-best finish since 2015 when Cardinals finished 16th.

"The men's team has grown so much over this past year," said head coach Steve Rahn. "Placing nine spots and averaging two minutes better than last year is very promising considering five of the seven men who ran today are freshmen. It was a great finish to Cosmo's and Joey's cross country career and we can't thank them enough for their hard work and leadership over the last four years."

The first Cardinal to cross the finish line was freshman John O'Rourke who finished in 42nd place out of 239 runners with a time of 26:26.0. He was jus seven spots away from earning All-Region honors.

O'Rourke was followed by classmate Paul Ames in 73rd place (26:57.5) and freshman Brian Reinhart in 87th place (27:10.1).
