Kansas City, Mo. - Lindsay Aleman and Ava Brown of The Catholic University of America women's soccer team graced the lists when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the NCAA Division III Women's All-Mid-Atlantic Region Teams on Wednesday afternoon.
Aleman, a junior forward form Hockessin, Del., had a record setting season for the Cardinals and was selected to the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team. After scoring 22 goals during Catholic's 2015 campaign, Aleman holds the program record for single season goals. Additionally she led the Landmark Conference in goals, points (46), game winners (7) and shots (96) and was selected as the conference's player of the year.
Brown, a junior right back from Fairfax Station, Va., earned a spot on the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Third Team after starting all twenty games while anchoring the Cardinal defense. With Brown's help in the backfield CUA recorded a 17-2 overall record including eight shutouts.
Along with her defensive efforts, Brown notched two goals for the Cardinals this season, including the tying goal in the Landmark Conference Finals match, giving Catholic the momentum to capture their second consecutive title.
