Cardinals Draw in Double Overtime at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Catholic University women's soccer team played 110 minutes to a scoreless draw against Landmark foe Susquehanna on Saturday evening. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Nina Fernandez recorded her fourth scoreless shutout of the season, making five saves in the process. The Cardinals (6-3-3, 1-1-1 LC) got an important result against the River Hawks (9-1-2, 2-0-1 LC) on the road in Selinsgrove, Pa. 

The sides each had seven shots over the opening forty-five minutes of action. Sophomore Maggie Moorcones led the way with five shots in the contest. The Cardinals took three corner kicks to Susquehanna's two. 

Mackenzie Earley, Halle Green, and Elizabeth Johnson all played more than 100 minutes in the effort. Each team fired one shot in the second overtime period and the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Catholic takes the field again Wednesday, October 10 for a 7 p.m. Landmark road match against Goucher College.
