SALISBURY, Md. - The Catholic University women's soccer team lost a defensive battle 2-0 Saturday afternoon on the road against Salisbury.
The Cardinals (3-2-1) played an even first half with the Sea Gulls, recording five shots while the hosts had six. Neither side found the back of the net in the first forty-five minutes of the contest.
Salisbury struck first in the 52nd minute with a goal to take the lead. The Sea Gulls soon doubled their lead in the 58th minute after drawing a foul in the box for a penalty kick attempt.
Catholic took just eight shots in the match. Junior forward Bridget Buckley led the offense with two shots.
Junior goalkeeper Nina Fernandez made six saves in the match.
The Cardinals stay on the road to take on Hood College on Tuesday, September 17. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
