Women’s Tennis Opens the Season at .500

WASHINGTON – The Lady Cardinals are off to decent start, with wins over Baldwin Wallace (8-1) and Gettysburg (7-2) and losses to Wooster (8-1) and Albion (8-1) during their time in Hilton Head, S.C., March 9-13.

The Cards swept Baldwin Wallace in singles play, while dropping a 9-7 decision in the No. 3 doubles slot.

Against Gettysburg, CUA clinched all three doubles points.  In singles action, Catholic secured the match win with victories in the No. 1, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 slot.

Despite the Lady Cardinals' 8-1 losses to Wooster and Albion, Eliana Martinez and Elaina Sceusa teamed up for 9-8 (7-3) doubles win as the No. 3 team against Wooster.  Martinez, who went undefeated in doubles play, joined forces with Caitlin Porter for the only match win against Albion.

Catholic continues the season with the season's first Landmark Conference match by welcoming Juniata On Saturday, March 15 at 12:00 p.m.
